Clarence Nero graduated from Howard University with a B.S. in Chemistry and later earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University. He has written several novels that started with his critically acclaimed semi-autobiographical “Cheekie: A Child Out of the Desire” that was endorsed by the late Dr. Maya Angelou. Nero has written for stage and film and currently serves as the Creative Writing Advisor at Baton Rouge Community College, where he teaches English and runs the Bayou Soul Youth Literary Conference that helps young people explore writing to resiliency.
