The inaugural program will involve an overview of Alzheimer’s disease and other disorders which cause dementia. After a brief discussion of the breadth of the dementia problem, dementia will be defined, and discussion will address the nature of dementia, the many causes of dementia, the appropriate diagnostic work-up for dementia, and subsequent treatment considerations.
In addition, a historical perspective of Alzheimer’s disease will be presented, and this will include some insights into Dr. Alzheimer’s clinical research in the early 1900s.
