“Home for Dinner: Mixing Food, Fun, and Conversation for a Happier Family and Healthier Kids” will be our primary topic of conversation. How can you get children of different ages to look forward to having dinner as a family? How can you teach them to want to eat nutritious meals? How do you get a conversation going? How do you keep it interesting and enjoyable? How can you make times for family dinners when everyone has so many activities? People say that eating together as a family helps children in many ways. Scientific evidence supports that claim.

Anne K. Fishel, Ph.D. based her new book “Home for Dinner: Mixing Food, Fun, and Conversation for a Happier Family and Healthier Kids” on her experiences as an employed mother, family therapist, and activist. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychology at the Harvard Medical School and Director of the Family and Couples Therapy Program at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She is also a co-founder of The Family Dinner Project, a non-profit group that works on-line and in person to help families have healthy, enjoyable dinners with meaningful conversations at the table.
