Episode Description

Dr. Carole puts on her Forensic Psychiatrist/Expert Witness hat (work she's done for hundreds of criminal and civil cases) to analyze 3 trials in the news. In San Diego, NFL player Kellen Winslow Jr. is accused by 5 women of rape and other sexual assaults. Hear why Dr. Carole says: unless the jury is swayed by his celebrity status, Winslow will be in for a rude awakening. His arrogant defense attorneys tried to tear down the victims-as if being mentally ill or homeless is more of a crime than their being raped. In Texas, Brenda Delgado is on trial for hiring a hitman to murder the new girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend, Dr. Ricky. Brenda is a woman scorned, obsessed with her ex, and hoping he will return to her once his new girlfriend is dead. In South Carolina, a jury ignored Timothy Jones' mental illness to find him guilty of murdering his 5 children. His wife's abandonment triggered memories of being abandoned by his mom and sent him into a psychotic tailspin that ended in tragedy.
