Jan Hively has been a lifelong advocate, and as an older adult, became an outspoken proponent and staunch advocate for ensuring older adults are able to achieve the life they desire with all of the dignity and respect they deserve. Her latest endeavor as Co-Founder of the Pass it On Network, along with Moira Allan), which is A Global Peer Learning Network for Positive Aging Advocates is also a member of the United Nations Open Ended Working Group on Aging. This passionate and lively conversation highlights the Vital Improvement Practice, which looks at strengths and needs considering individual and environmental considerations, the Universal Needs of Older adults, the Dimensions of Positive Aging, Advocacy and the importance of Self-Advocacy and Aging in Place possibilities, including Dr. Bill Thomas'Green House and Minka homes, shared housing and small residential care homes.
