Welcome to Let’s Reinvent School- the program that is focused on what is possible, not what’s wrong with our schools. For the past 13 weeks, we have covered a wide range of topics with extraordinary guests who have enlightened, provoked, challenged, and inspired us to do better and to move forward to prepare young people for their future. Thursday, June 9, marks Let’s Reinvent School’s 13th episode. We will return in September to kick off the 2022-23 school year with another 13 episodes. In the Internum, we invite you to enjoy encore presentations of the program every Thursday at 1 pm EST and 10 am PST, on Voice America’s Variety channel. We thought it would be appropriate to end this academic year by looking back to look ahead. We are going to focus on the takeaways and lessons we learned from our guests over the last few months. We will also have a few surprise guests to help us imagine a future where all young people thrive in school and beyond.

Ross Danis is the president & CEO of MeckEd, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based non-profit dedicated to ensuring access to opportunity for all children. Dr. Danis’ 40 years of service as a teacher, staff developer, school principal, curriculum director, foundation executive, university dean, and non-profit leader, is fueled by his abiding belief in the power of public education to transform lives. Dr. Danis has served as an appointee to the education task forces, commissions, and education policy transition teams of four governors and six education commissioners. He has taught educational leadership to doctoral students in 36 states and seven countries on four continents. As the president & CEO of MeckEd, Dr. Danis continues to empower educators, policymakers, and community members with the knowledge and resources necessary to ensure that all children have access to the education they deserve, and the experiences necessary to thrive.
