What can the private sector learn from the public sector? Lots We often talk about management practices, organization management, process efficacies, and how to make companies more customer-oriented, efficient, inclusive --ultimately more profitable; we mainly discuss the private sector, when we discuss governments or the public sector if it is often in the form of a complaint. Having worked as a CEO for over 20 years in the private sector, I would be hard-pressed to use the words good management and the public sector in the same sentence. I would use the word leadership (or sometimes lack thereof) in the sentence with the government, but I would mostly use words like bureaucracy, long processes, and inefficacy. Or at least that’s what I used to say until I read our guest's book. After reading the book by today's guest, I realized there are some things the private sector can learn from the public sector. However, people are also trying to improve things in the public sector. In this episode, we talk about management, innovation, and continuous improvement in the Government and public sectors.

Kimberli specializes in cross-cultural leadership training, diversity implementation and leadership training for women and provides training and consulting for several international companies. Kimberli currently serves as Board member of the Search and Information Industry Association, Europe. She is an American national, owner of the international company Global Business Therapy s.r.o. and partner of the Academy of Executive Coaching London.
