Judy Philbin realizes the powerful way in which melody and lyrics can offer solace and healing following the death of a loved one. She has compiled many of these songs into a CD titled Candle in the Window. Judy and her son Garrett will discuss their music and how it has enriched their lives and the lives of others. Art Daily was driving through Glenwood Canyon, Colorado with his family when his car was hit by a boulder falling from the canyon wall. His wife and two boys were killed. After his loss Art had to make the decision whether and how to live on. He and Allison Snyder are co-authors of “Out of the Canyon.”

The show is hosted by Dr. Gloria Horsley, Marriage and Family Therapist and her daughter Dr. Heidi Horsley, adjunct professor at Columbia University’s school of Social Work. Dr. Gloria and Dr. Heidi are published authors and international experts in grief, loss and recovery. Hear bereaved family members and experts share inspirational stories of loss, hope and recovery. Drs. Gloria and Heidi Horsley
Dr. Gloria Horsley, BSN, MS, MA, CNS, MFT, MIM, Ph.D. is a bereaved parent and has worked in family therapy for 22 years. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Rochester, Syracuse, Greenwich and Holos Universities. Dr. Gloria serves The Compassionate Friends in a number of roles, including Board Director and chairperson for TCF’s annual program for professionals. Dr. Heidi Horsley, BS, MS, MSW, Psy.D. is a bereaved sibling and adjunct professor at Columbia University’s school of Social Work where she teaches courses including grief, loss, and bereavement. She holds graduate degrees from Columbia University, Loyola, and University of San Francisco. She also conducts seminars & workshops at The Compassionate Friends annual bereavement conferences.
