Dr. Satish Kumar joins David Gibbons to discuss his life’s work and amazing spiritual journey. Before settling down in England in 1973, he became widely known for an 8,000 mile peace pilgrimage, walking from India to America during which he endured extremes of weather and terrain. He was also jailed in France, faced a loaded gun in America and delivered packets of ‘peace tea’ to the leaders of the four nuclear powers. In England he became editor of Resurgence magazine and is the guiding spirit behind ecological, spiritual and educational projects in Britain. Resurgence publishes articles on deep ecology, sustainable economics and creative living as well as exploring the root causes of today's problems and offers solutions. Satish is on the Advisory Board of Our Future Planet, a unique online community that enables people to share ideas, design the future and create global change in the real world. He teaches, lectures and runs workshops internationally on reverential ecology, holistic education and voluntary simplicity.
