Eric Oberman talks with Gil about the Naismith National Player of the Year voting. The Finalists are Jimmer Fredette of BYU, Kemba Walker of UConn, Nolan Smith of Duke, and Jared Sullinger of Ohio State. Oberman also talks about the NCAA Tournament and the National Player of the Year Announcement at the TipOff Club Awards dinner in Atlanta. Among those who are being honored TNT’s, Ex-WNBA coach, Basketball Hall of Famer, and former USC Trojan Great Cheryl Miller. Also joining us will be Greg Burton of ESPN 950 Radio in Richmond Virginia. Greg Burton discusses the BIGGEST story of the Sweet 16 in the Mens Tournament. The city of Richmond Virginia is currently making history, for the first time ever the city has 2 teams (Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond), in the Sweet 16, and in the same region too! Are there divided loyalties? Eric Rauscher of Millenium Ice visits us on the program to talk about new revolutionary way of sports training. And Phil Cantor of OnlineSportsGuys.com will provide us the latest trends in the World of Sports & the Hot Topics of the Day.

We want to create a healthy conversation through the means of internet radio, social networking, and other technological aspects of an ever changing medium. The show will also provide a news making component. This will not be a show that is slanted or is misrepresented. This program will also promote the positive values of athletes through their foundations and faith based community initiatives.
Gil Tyree
Emmy-award winning TV sportscaster Gil Tyree’s experience includes the NCAA Final Four, Super Bowl XXX, Olympic Features, NASCAR, NBA, MLB, NFL, SEC, NHL, and the Bowl Championship Series. Currently Gil hosts the Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Sports Central show that provides in-depth coverage of Georgia high school football. Gil is also the host for the Texas Pete Hot Sauce Flavor of Football tour, which visits college campuses across the country. Gil has done extensive radio work including contributing to ESPN Radio’s Game Night show.
His community involvement included forming a 100-person plus bike team that raised more than $200,000 for the National MS Society, and founding member of the Arizona Association of Black Journalists. Gil also hosts the 100% Wrong Clubs annual sports banquet in Atlanta, celebrating black college sports.
Gil has participated in hundreds of fundraising dinners and events for organizations such as Upward Bound, the Special Olympics, the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, and mentoring programs at the University of Arizona, University of Georgia, and the Mesa, Arizona-based Friends of the Library. He has hosted telethons for the United Negro College Fund and has helped in fundraising events for the Urban League, the Sullivan Foundations Haitian earthquake relief drive, and the United Blood Services. He also served as the emcee for the Grand Canyon State Games and Special Olympics.
