Episode Description

Dr. Allan G. Johnson, what is White privilege really? Is it a myth or popular ‘catch’ phrase that means a 1000 things to a 1000 people? It may spark more argument and barriers among ‘races’ of people. Some say it makes “White” people the new target. Is this one reason we find it harder to move forward on race matter as a country and around the globe? A knot is a powerful historical symbol in USA culture. It’s made to hold and not easily let go. He’s White, straight, male, and spent 30 years doing deep personal work and thinking on many of the ‘isms’. What does he see that’s needed for the next breakthrough on race? We think he sees and knows a lot! Allan G. Johnson has a perspective on race and class that ‘offers a practical, compassionate, and readable guide to understanding what we’re stuck in and how to search for a way out’. But will it take deep pain, shameful remorse, and giving up any part of what many feel has been earned by a hard work ethic? You won’t want to miss this!
