Howard was the founding Director of the Gerson Healing Center in Sedona, Arizona, that provided the Gerson Therapy directly to visitors from all over the world. Howard also served on the Board of the Gerson Institute for fifteen years and initiated their Worldwide Web presence during the earliest days of the Internet.
Mr. Straus founded Gerson Health Media that publishes the guidebooks for implementing Gerson Therapy and manages the rapidly expanding library of books and booklets being released around the world. Howard appears on radio, television and Internet interviews, and regularly speaks throughout the world.
Mike began his mission as the Health Ranger as a response to his own failing health. At 30, he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, brought on by poor diet and severe lack of exercise. As a high-powered software executive, extreme levels of stress, cholesterol, depression and back pain were common features of Mike's past. Searching for answers to his health woes, Mike dove into research; he devoured thousands of books on nutrition, pharmaceutical drugs, wellness programs, the politics of food - anything he could find. Mike has made it his life mission to share the most remarkable discovery he has made: the vast majority of all diseases can be prevented and cured without drugs or surgery. And that’s exactly what Mike did. He cured himself of diabetes in a matter of months and transformed himself into the picture of perfect health in mind, body and spirit. When Mike first discovered the life-changing information about health, he thought few people would believe what he was telling them. To be believed, he first had to prove that his own ideas about health were valid. So Mike decided to put them to the test by transforming his physical body into the healthiest patient any doctor had seen. Guest Mike Adams

Dr. John Apsley
Dr. John Apsley is a physician, author and researcher who for the past 30 years has specialized in regenerative medicine. His cutting-edge techniques are designed to reverse chronic degenerative disease through accelerated tissue repair and cellular regeneration.
Dr. Apsley has spent a life time documenting how this decay occurs due to (A) severe soil mineral deficiencies and (B) global pollution. For example, according to the National Cancer Institute, up to 90% of cancer is caused by the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat. The long-term solution is to remineralize our soils with micronized full-spectrum healthy minerals, remove pollutants from our food chain, while on the short term we re-ignite regenerative healing forces in our body with select bioenergetic devices while living a regenerative lifestyle. Guest Dr. John Apsley
Helen Bairstow of Cairns, Australia was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer five years ago. It had already metastasized and was in her bones, spine, lungs and more. As a dynamic businesswoman, author and mother of a young son, she did not just give up, but started on the Gerson Therapy. Currently, she is virtually cancer free and has produced a lovely recipe book, "Happy Gerson", which has a wonderfully positive attitude, and is a winner in every way. Join us in a delightful conversation with Helen! Guest Helen Bairstow
Marilyn Barnes Bloom
As a young mother in her 30s with 3 kids and a busy art teacher job, Marilyn Barnes was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and cervical cancer. Rejecting mainstream advice, she chose alternative healing! Marilyn began her therapy at the Mexican Gerson Clinic in 1979. After she experienced the difficulty of finding organic foods, she became a resident of the Gerson Therapy Halfway House in Chula Vista. Marilyn stayed on, becoming manager and owner, helping provide Gerson Therapy to over 300 Gerson patients in the next 10 years. She traveled with Charlotte Gerson as her road chef, presenting delicious Gerson food at Charlotte’s far-flung lectures. She often visited the Gerson clinic in Mexico, giving the original Gerson kitchen set-up classes. After the Halfway House closed, Marilyn traveled to patients' homes around the country as an initial home set-up and caregiver. Now happily retired, she keeps a Norwalk juicer and lots of organic fruits and veggies still in her kitchen. Guest Marilyn Barnes Bloom
Elizabeth Barris became an anti-EMR (electromagnetic radiation) activist when she became electro-sensitive, and it began to affect her health. She didn’t set out to do that, but found that there was no other advocacy in the cause. She has founded several non-profit organizations that regularly present to communities, news outlets, governmental bodies, legislators and courtrooms on the issues of basic health and human rights violations, public health and the effects of runaway EMR. She has sued Edison and PG&E for health effects of “Smart Meters” and the “smart” grid. Ms. Barris is now making a documentary film about EMR and the lengths to which government and industry have gone to hide its health effects from the public. Kathleen was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 27 years ago, and was told that the surgeon wanted to remove her thyroid. This did not sound right to her, so she started to look for alternatives, prayed for guidance. At a health food store a few days later, she found Dr. Gerson’s book, A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases. Instinctively, she knew this was the right way to go, but, as the mother of four young children, could not afford the time or cost to go to the Mexican clinic for two weeks. She visited, was seen by an MD, and proceeded to do the Gerson Therapy herself, at home. Kathleen did the Gerson Therapy very strictly at home for two years, and to this day, stays close to the Therapy’s recommendations for good health. She has continued to research natural health, worked in the local health food store, and is a vocal advocate for natural healing, including facilitating local seminars for Charlotte Gerson in Sedona, AZ. Guest Kathleen Blake
Cori Brackett, author, producer, director, documentary maker. Howard Straus’ guest on The Power of Natural Healing, Monday, July 1, 2013 Cori Brackett loves life and celebrates every moment. She understands the expansive power of love and is devoted to helping individuals empower themselves through knowledge, wisdom and personal choice. Discovering the ability to listen to one's own body as well as gaining access to individual intuition, is what she believes, ultimately, can create amazing healing effects within the body and the spirit. After having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002, Cori Brackett found herself falling into a deep pit of doctor's appointments and medications, while continuing to get worse. Eventually, she found herself in a wheelchair with double vision and slurred speech. Slowly, she learned to maintain the balancing act between pushing herself to get better and having the patience to accept her then-current limitations. Hungry for knowledge and a clue to her symptoms, she stumbled upon some information linking aspartame to MS-like symptoms. As she had been a fairly heavy consumer of aspartame and aspartame-containing products (an average of a six-pack/day of diet soda for twenty years) she thought there might be something to this and proceeded to investigate. What resulted from her investigation was the searing and heart-stopping documentary, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World, its sequel, Sweet Remedy: The World Reacts and her multi-media memoir, Through the Shadows. Today, she lives a happy, healthy and authentic life and enjoys speaking to groups around the country and shares her knowledge through guests on her regular radio show who can help you envision a better world, as well as providing the tools need to discover that better life. FRANK COUSINEAU, PRESIDENT, CANCER CONTROL SOCIETY attended Stanislaus State College, Turlock, California, majoring in History and English. Frank was only months away from obtaining his teaching degree when his mother developed cancer for the third time. The frustration from futile attempts at arresting this disease caused Frank and his family to investigate available alternatives to "cut, burn and poison." This search led to Dr. Ernesto Contreras at his Centro Medico del Mar Clinic in Tijuana, Mexico. Metabolic therapy and a change in diet provided relief from pain and eased his mother's passing. Frank's involvement in Alternative Therapies was increased when he married Dr. Contreras's secretary. They now live in Modesto where they are the creators and owners of Life Support, which supplies nutritional supplements primarily to physicians who practice Metabolic Therapy. Frank succeeded Norman Fritz (co-founder of the Gerson Institute) as president of the Cancer Control Society when Fritz passed away about ten years ago. Frank organizes tours to the Alternative Cancer Clinics in Tijuana, Mexico four times a year or upon request. Information and reservations may be obtained by calling him at (209) 529-4697 in Modesto, California. Guest Frank Cousineau

Without understanding the impact this would have on my life, I had my first grand mal seizure at the age of 17. Little did I know that this was the beginning of my journey toward health and wellness. A journey for myself and for you!
By working through and understanding the value of natural healing, it then became my passion to teach others the benefits of natural healing.
So continued my journey to become a Traditional Naturopath. I earned a doctorate as a Traditional Naturopath, a diploma level in Professional Holistic Iridology as well as a Bachelors of Science in Natural Health. I have also been trained in many other therapies and protocol such as the Kalish method of assessing the 3 main body systems, emotional freedom technique (EFT), metabolic typing, traditional Chinese assessment tools as well as German drainage therapy. Another point to make is that I never stop learning. This continues my own personal journey as well as my clients and followers of Depke Wellness. Guest Glen Depke
Veronique Desaulniers, DC
Dr. Desaulniers graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1979 from Life Chiropractic College, and took many postgraduate seminars and qualifications. She made a career out of teaching people how to take care of their bodies. It was a devastating blow for her to be diagnosed with breast cancer. She thought that she was doing everything right, yet here was the unmistakable news she was not. Delving into the problem, with deep and motivated research, Dr. V (as she is generally called) found that cancer is not an evil invader, it is a message of love from the body saying, “If you keep doing the things you always have done, you will get the same results.” Here was an opportunity for transformation, learning, and life management. Dr. V now is passionately involved with helping other women solve the same problem that she had, and showing them the shining path towards healing naturally. Along the way, she wrote “Heal Breast Cancer Naturally”, which became an Amazon.com number one best seller. Guest Veronique Desaulniers, DC

Less EMF Inc.
A native of New York State, Emil DeToffol earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Chemistry from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1979 and Doctorate of Dental Surgery from SUNY at Buffalo in 1983. After retiring from the practice of dentistry, and volunteering at the Option Institute in Sheffield MA (a resource for families with Autism), Dr. DeToffol created Less EMF Inc. in 1996 as way to apply his engineering and health science background to help the growing population of individuals concerned about the adverse effects of electromagnetic field radiation. Less EMF Inc. now offers over 300 EMF safety products from around the world including meters, shielding, and books on the topic. “In the last generation, man-made electromagnetic field pollution of our environment has escalated to the point where effects on our delicate biological systems are a certainty. This has been well documented in the scientific literature, but not well publicized, ” says Dr. DeToffol. “Under some circumstances, a subset of the population can actually become sensitized to EMF exposure. Neurological symptoms, difficulty sleeping, heart palpitations, ringing in the ears, and skin rashes are the most common effects we hear about. For these individuals, living and working in a typical electromagnetically polluted space becomes difficult or impossible. There is almost no where left to hide.” Media appearances have included radio (Shadowlands with Art Bell), television (John Stossel special on 20/20), and print (Investor's Business Daily). Dr. DeToffol currently lives in Albany NY with his wife and daughter. He enjoys woodworking, sailing, and traveling in his spare time. Guest Emil DeToffol
Medical journalist Helke Ferrie exposes the FDA’s war on vitamins and supplements. Helke Ferrie’s education includes prehistoric, ancient Near Eastern and Greek archaeology, Chinese and Buddhist studies, and a master’s degree in physical anthropology. When Helke became seriously ill in the mid-1990’s with Myasthenia gravis, she learned that standard medicine is not concerned with causation which, in her case, turned out to be mercury amalgam dental fillings and many years’ exposure to DDT while growing up in India. Nor did standard medicine offer her anything beyond symptom control with steroids and other carcinogenic immuno-suppressant drugs, all of which accelerate osteoporosis, leaving her with no meaningful choice between treatment and the disease. When Helke was ill, a brief telephone conversation with internationally renowned toxicologist Dr. Boyd Haley of the University of Kentucky gave her hope of recovery. His information was grounded in sound, verifiable science and precipitated an epiphany for her: that the concept of an “idiopathic” disease (i.e. of no known cause) and incurable is the stuff of illusion, of nightmares, from which we can awake. Guest Helke Ferrie
I am Laurie Fisher, 43 years old. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 29. I did surgery, chemo and radiation. This process lasted about 1 ½ years. When I was 34 they had found the cancer spread to my and was peritoneal cancer. Then more chemo and radiation. Wondering if they actually knew what they were doing. I lost faith in medical professionals every step of the way. This regimen lasted about another 1 ½ years I was about 36 when that regimen was finished. I was the picture of health running marathons, ultra marathons and training for an Ironman, then, you guessed it another diagnosis of cancer. This time unrelated to other cancer, Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, now 38 years old. It was advanced stage 3. I did typical treatment and my health worsened. By age 40, I was a clinical trial lab rat. By the grace of God I left the trail. I started Gerson 1 ½ years ago. I am alive healthy and “PAIN FREE”. Guest Laurie Fisher

Foster Gamble - President & Co-Founder of Clear Compass Media; Creator, Host, Co-Writer, and Director of Visual Design for THRIVE At age 14, Foster Gamble had a vision where he glimpsed what he perceived to be the Universe’s fundamental energy pattern. He spent the next 35 years trying to figure out the details and implications of what he had seen. That quest took two paths: a scientific journey and an exploration of the human potential to navigate successfully through the challenges threatening our survival. THRIVE represents the convergence of these two paths. While at Princeton University, Foster helped to create their first film-making department. At the time, the emergence of a global media delivery system seemed likely, and Foster’s love of film combined with his concern for the planet inspired him to focus on what would be the most critical content to one day deliver through that system. In his search for a way out of our violence and demise, Foster discovered Aikido – the non-violent martial art – which proved for him the possibility of being simultaneously powerful and gentle. He earned a third degree black belt and trained in and taught Aikido for 15 years. Applying Aikido principles to daily life informed Foster’s professional career: He created a training and technology company, MindCenter, that employed brainwave biofeedback to help people learn how to manage stress and to tune their consciousness. He also created Interaction Dynamics, a training program for mastering skills in communication, team-building and conflict resolution for couples, business teams, schools and families across the United States. He combined Aikido energy principles and mind fitness techniques in Zonesport Training, which tapped his passion for sports in helping high level athletes to enhance their performance. Addressing the demands of balancing his own personal, family and professional lives led Foster to create a program called LifeBalance. Furthering his exploration of what was keeping humanity from thriving, Foster spent nearly a decade “following the money” in every sector of human endeavor. The process revealed an understanding of our predicament that led him to create the strategic solutions offered in THRIVE. Foster’s exploration of “living geometry” – how nature builds the “material” world, came to fruition in 1997 when he co-convened the Sequoia Symposium, a multi-disciplinary scientific think tank exploring perspectives on “Unification Theory.” There, the primary patterning that the universe uses to sustain healthy systems was clarified and cohered, as was its use as a blueprint for us to design sustainable, all-inclusive technologies and social systems. This discovery represents the convergence of science and the evolution of consciousness that Foster set out to explore after his initial vision, and is the “code” that is featured in the documentary film, THRIVE, and on this website. Foster lives in Santa Cruz, California with his wife Kimberly Carter Gamble. Guest Foster Gamble
Kimberly Carter Gamble
Kimberly Carter Gamble - Former CEO, Co-Founder and Advisor for Clear Compass Media; Producer, Director, and Co-Writer of THRIVE Kimberly Carter Gamble brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to Clear Compass Media, and creating the movie THRIVE called upon it all: as a former journalist, including for Newsweek International; a producer of large projects and events; a lifelong activist for social justice and as a mother and step mother to nine children. When asked about THRIVE, Kimberly says “Having the courage to risk stepping out of what David Icke calls the “hassle-free zone” is the quality I am most proud to have mustered in this life, and it felt great to infuse the clarity and compassion that come from that process into the story – and production – of THRIVE.” One especially encouraging insight that emerged in the course of making THRIVE was that the most informed people are consistently the most hopeful, because once the nature of the problem is clear, so are the solutions. Kimberly is committed to using her privilege to empower these bold and leveraged solutions. Guest Kimberly Carter Gamble
Charlotte Gerson is the youngest of Dr. Max Gerson’s three daughters, and the one who took the most active interest in continuing his legacy of healing and restoring life to so many declared “hopeless” or “terminal” by conventional medicine.
After Dr. Gerson’s death in 1959, Charlotte continued publishing his book, eventually selling more than 250,000 in many languages around the world. In 1978, Charlootte co-founded the Gerson Institute and provided the knowledge for interested physicians in Mexico to found several clinics over the past 30+ years.
Charlotte has authored several books on the Gerson Therapy, including The Gerson Therapy, Healing the Gerson Way, Healing Diabetes: the Gerson Way, Healing Arthritis: the Gerson Way. Several have been translated into a dozen languages or more, and the total tally of Gerson books in all languages now approaches 1 million. Hardly a month goes by without Charlotte being invited to appear on a healing documentary.
Today, at 91 years of age, Charlotte is as active as ever, producing books, lecturing and making bi-weekly rounds at the Mexican Gerson Clinic.

Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez has been investigating nutritional approaches to cancer and other degenerative diseases since 1981, and has been in practice in New York since 1987. Dr. Linda Isaacs has been working with Dr. Gonzalez in his research and practice since 1985. In their office, they use individualized aggressive nutritional protocols to work with many types of cancer, and with other illnesses such as allergies, autoimmune disorders and chronic fatigue. First interested in journalism, Gonzalez developed an interest in medicine, and earned his MD. He became an oncologist, with a position at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, working under Dr. Robert Good, the “Father of American Immunology.” Dr. Gonzalez heard about a dentist named Kelley who had cured himself of pancreatic cancer, and, intrigued, requested permission to do his dissertation on Kelley, good, bad or ugly. Dr. Good approved, and Dr. Gonzalez studied Kelley and his results for two years, producing a stunning monograph endorsing Kelley’s results. His colleagues’ subsequent brutal suppression of his work radicalized Dr. Gonzalez forever. He now continues Kelley’s treatment in New York City. Guest Nicholas Gonzalez

Sensei Bill Handel, Vice President for Sales and Marketing for Gerson Health Media. He will be talking about new releases, including the books, “Healing Arthritis: The Gerson Way” and “Healing Diabetes: The Gerson Way” and the new DVD Heal Yourself, Heal the World. Sensei (“Master”) Bill has masterminded an aggressive direct sales campaign in keeping with the goal of getting Gerson Therapy knowledge spread throughout the world. Sensei Bill Handel is a highly skilled and trained mixed martial arts instructor who has had his own martial arts studio for years, as well as being a powerful and skilled marketing and sales manager, having brought several companies from virtual anonymity and hand-to-mouth existence to multi-million-dollar national and international sales levels. He was inspired by his first contact with the Gerson Therapy, when, with minimal effort and no hunger pangs, he and his wife lost a dozen pounds each within two weeks. He has since taken a measure of the opposition’s tactics and taken effective measures to counter them. Bill is an outspoken, sometimes harsh, critic of the current state of medicine, particularly as it relates to chronic disease, having, like so many other Americans, unnecessarily lost several friends and family members to useless and toxic allopathic medical interventions. Listen in for a lively and straightforward discussion. Guest Bill Handel

Linda Hayes, CCT, has been using thermal imaging for early disease detection for the past 20 years. Thermal imaging has been able to help in the early detection of inflammatory breast cancer which frequently affects women between the ages of 20 and 40. Thermal imaging can screen for the earliest stages of cancer in ALL women, all age groups, and is often preferred to mammograms since this technology has NO RADIATION and NO BODY CONTACT, and is done in a matter of minutes while you wait. It is currently recognized as one of the earliest methods of screening for breast disease. The American Heart Association suggests thermal imaging as an initial screening for heart disease. Jamie Holmes is a professional dancer, aerial acrobat, fitness instructor and entertainer, with her own production company. A competitive dancer and gymnast from the age of eight, for the past sixteen years, her life has been one of daily physical exertion and performance. When she was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma, she was devastated. After hearing from the allopathic physicians of her poor options and probable prognosis, and researching conventional melanoma treatments thoroughly, she instead chose the Gerson Therapy. “It just made sense,” she says. Jamie spent a few weeks at the Gerson Therapy hospital in Mexico, and for the first time, instead of sad, hopeless looks she got from her physicians in Toronto, Canada, she was getting encouraging and hopeful, helpful and healing energy from the Gerson staff and other patients. Melanoma is one of the most deadly cancers for allopathic methods, but one of the most rapidly responding cancers on the Gerson Therapy. She felt a huge burden lifted from her heart. After six months, her tumor had shrunk in size by half, and she felt energy and hope return. Jamie also received immense benefits from Earthing. “It’s insanely great,” she says, “Because of what I do, my hips were always in pain, and I just figured that was how it would be. But using Earthing, the pain has completely disappeared.” Now, six months into her Gerson Therapy, Jamie has settled into her healing routine, loves the new lifestyle that gives life and health, and will free her from the fear of disease and death. Jamie is eager to share her journey with as many others as she can. www.jamieholmes.com Guest Jamie Holmes
Jenny Hrbacek, RN
Author Jenny Hrbacek’s life changing journey began when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Today, she has launched a national campaign to change the way that cancer is detected. She has appeared in Ty Bollinger’s series The Truth About Cancer, and is a featured contributor to medical conferences and radio shows. Cancer Free! Are you SURE? is a result of several years of research into tests that are true early detection. Jenny details how these tests can detect cancer’s development years before it is typically picked up by a mammogram, PSA count, or PET scan. She tells you where to get these tests, what they cost, how accurate they are. She gives you a roadmap for detecting cancer in time to intervene with diet, detox, and healing therapies – in time to prevent a full-blown diagnosis. She also tells you how to reduce the risk of a recurrence of cancer, and what options exist for treatment in addition to the standard surgery/chemo/radiation. Guest Jenny Hrbacek, RN

Annie Juneau, ND
Annie Juneau was the unlikeliest of naturopaths: tennis pro as a teen, she was sidetracked by an injury that led her to modelling. But all was not glamour: she suffered from debilitating headaches, constant ear infections, severe heartburn and hypothyroidism. A routine checkup revealed a potential cancer that became her wake-up call. This led her to study naturopathy and achieve her certification 2005. Convinced of the link between health and a healthy gut, she specialized in hydrotherapy in 2006. With both these diplomas in hand, she founded her own clinic, Vitacru. Still fueled by her passion for health, she was led to the Gerson Therapy. Now Chief Resident with the Gerson Institute and working on a full certification by the end of 2017, fifteen clients are presently under her supervision and care. Highly intuitive and still as passionate, she continues to fine-tune the Gerson protocol to further advance the collective understanding of the human body. Guest Annie Juneau, ND
Wayne and Cathy Justus
Wayne and Cathy Justus had been raising show-quality quarter horses in California for years, and had a wall full of blue ribbons to show for it, when they decided to move their operation to Pagosa Springs, CO to take advantage of the clean water that would ensure the continuation of their success as breeders. The clean mountain springs and high pastures seemed perfect. Their horses had never had health problems, but that stopped abruptly when Pagosa Springs added silicofluorides to the municipal water supply, the main source of water for the horses. The horses began to display numerous and diffuse symptoms that they were unable to classify, and, worse, baffled their veterinarian. Colic, Cushing’s syndrome, foals dying, mares dying. Eventually, they lost six beautiful show horses and four dogs, and there was no explanation. When they were finally able to prove scientifically that fluoridation had caused the deaths, Cathy became a relentless and effective campaigner against fluoridation. Her first success was getting the poison removed from the water in Pagosa Springs, ending the mysterious illnesses her animals had suffered. Cathy is a now a powerful, passionate and effective opponent of fluoridation, and shares her story generously. Guest Wayne and Cathy Justus

Steve Kroschel is a wildlife and nature cinematographer extraordinaire. As well as his own film company, he maintains a wild animal farm in Southern Alaska (Haines) for both educational and cinematographic purposes, caring for bears, wolves, wolverines, caribou, porcupines, and many more. These animals are wild enough to be filmed in wildlife documentaries and feature films, but return to Steve at the end of the day. Caring properly for animals with wildly differing diets, Steve was intrigued by the idea of the Gerson Therapy, and tried it to maintain his own health. After achieving spectacular results, Steve made three stunningly beautiful and moving documentaries about the Therapy that have helped spread its knowledge around the world. Most recently, Steve heard about Earthing on The Power of Natural Healing interview with Clint Ober, and was again inspired by true health benefits. He was so impressed with the technology that he is now in the middle of producing a documentary on Earthing. A renaissance man, but modest to a fault, Steve lives an intense, vigorous outdoor life in the harsh, wild and beautiful environment of Coastal Alaska. Steve’s credits include: Wild America, Seven Years in Tibet, Vertical Limit, Escape from Alaska, Running Free, an appearance on Johnny Carson, and many wildlife documentaries. His special skill is filming avalanches. Guest Steve Kroschel

Shira Lane: born in Israel, raised in Australia and returned to Israel to serve the Israeli Army. In 2001 Lane graduated from Entertainment and Performing Arts School, Beit-Zvi. In 2002 her television career launched with Israeli TV Drama series ‘Tipol Nimratz’. When the TV show run ended, Lane sought to return to her family in Australia, but due to severe dog quarantine laws, she diverted to Los Angeles, not to be separated from her dog.
Lane’s inquiries into milk started while she was in production on feature film ‘Magdalena’, with Dean River Productions and Inspirational Films. Lane’s allergy to milk and dairy products amplified upon arrival into the U.S. Lack of information from other documentaries, nutritionists and even doctors, motivated Lane to do her own research. The findings from medical journals and other resources are revealed throughout the film.

Jeffrey Maupin comes to us from the far north: Barrow, AK. Half Caucasian and half Eskimo, he mirrors the population in Barrow. After graduating college with a degree in accounting, and working in accounting for some years, Jeffrey started a company that serviced vending machines in Barrow. He soon realized that the ingredients in the “foods” he was selling were harmful to the health of his customers. When he learned about the Gerson Therapy, he found that he resonated with it strongly. Since then, he has dedicated himself to bringing this knowledge to his neighbors and other Alaskans. He now sells Gerson materials, advertises and speaks out hoping that he can improve the poor health status of the local population. His efforts are beginning to bear fruit, but he is ready for the long haul. Hear about the special challenges of little fresh food, brainwashed patients, millennia of entrenched dietary tradition and being the only advocate for Gerson within 1,000 miles. Guest Jeffrey Maupin

Clint Ober … Earthing Howard Straus’ guest Jan. 23, 2012 on The Power of Natural Healing. Clint Ober, a pioneer in the communications and cable television industry, discovered by chance in 1998 that being in direct physical bare skin contact with the Earth is important for health. He knew from his background that connection with the Earth is the essential stabilizing factor for communication and cable systems. All such systems are grounded, that is, connected to Earth’s stabilizing surface energy via a ground rod. Since 1998, Clint has relentlessly pursued scientific research and produced a dozen studies showing that Earthing or grounding — as he often calls it — has a profound and positive impact on human physiology and health. He also developed simple and convenient Earthing systems that allow people to ground themselves when inside their homes and offices and reap the benefits, such as less pain, better sleep, and more energy. Mr. Ober has documented his amazing discovery and pursuit of scientific validation of the profound health benefits of Earthing in the award winning book, Earthing:The Most Important Health Discovery Ever? (Basic Health Publications, 2010), co-authored with cardiologist Stephen Sinatra and health writer Martin Zucker. The book “Earthing” received the prestigious Nautilus Award shortly after being published and was named Book of the Month in April 2011 by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Inspired by various scientists, i.e., Hieronymus, Moray, Priore' and especially Nikola Tesla, about the existence of energy beyond the electromagnetic spectrum, Tom pursued a course of independent study to better understand and harness scalar energy. After years of experimentation and modification, Tom developed a scalar energy technique that transmutes pathogens quickly and painlessly. He uses photographs of people who desire to have these pathogens destroyed. Tom’s treatment enables him to apply the scalar energy reverse-phase angle harmonic of a pathogen, causing that pathogen to disintegrate. Scalar energy operates at the quantum level and can destroy all types of pathogens, eliminating causes of disease. Once the cause of a disease has been eliminated, the symptoms associated with the ailment decrease or disappear altogether. Guest Tom Paladino

Dr. Wayne "The Mango Man" Pickering
Imagine being 23 years of age; being 40 pounds overweight; a third bout of rheumatic fever and expected to die before your 30th birthday. What did Wayne Pickering do? He studied nutrition, theology and naturopathy (the study of food and exercise to aid the body's healing processes) and beat the odds. He holds a Doctorate in Naturopathy (N.D.), and a Masters in Nutrition! His healthy smile reflects a man who has come to terms with his health! “For 23 years of my life, I did drugs, smoked the herb, drank booze, chewed tobacco, and dipped snuff. I learned that I was suffering from a myriad of diseases, including rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis and gout, and 40 pounds overweight! I knew I’d be dead by 30 if I didn’t change my ways. So I made a personal decision to be a victor and not a victim. “I made it my mission to find out everything I could about how the human body works. I hope to share the lessons I’ve learned to help you grow older and better and not old and bitter.” Guest Dr. Wayne "The Mango Man" Pickering

MARGARET STRAUS is Dr. Max Gerson’s granddaugher. Born in New York, since 1967 she has lived in Europe, first in London and presently on Lake Como. In the early 1970s she wrote an article about Dr. Gerson’s work for a large circulation British magazine, “Here’s Health,” specializing in natural medicine. The piece excited great public interest, and soon Ms. Straus was much in demand to write, lecture and hold seminars about the Gerson Therapy throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. In 1979, Margaret’s husband, Giuliano Dego, author and professor at London University, began to research the life and times of Dr. Gerson and in 1997 published his investigative novel, Doctor Max. The couple moved to Italy in 1982. In time, Margaret was contacted by the director of a publishing firm who, with her help and Prof. Dego’s editing and introduction, published the translation of S. J. Haught’s book Censured for Curing Cancer: the American Experience of Dr. Max Gerson. In 1999 the publishing giant Rizzoli published Doctor Max in Italian. It won the Latina National Paperback book award and received 130 reviews. The interest aroused by this gripping and disturbing novel led to the publication in Italian of Charlotte Gerson’s books, The Gerson Therapy and Healing the Gerson Way, the latter volume containing the documentary DVD Dying to Have Known by award-winning film-maker Stephen Kroschel. Margaret Straus was one of the editors of the text, and continues to write, lecture and give seminars in Italy to an increasing number of interested patients and doctors Guest Margaret Straus

Because of the impact the book he had read had on him, and testimonials from recovered patients, he chose Gerson. With the incredible dedication of his wife Gail, he pursued the therapy religiously for two years, even taking it on the road with him to shows across the country. Today, he is still enjoying his career making people laugh, and has written his own book about his experience called 3.000 Coffee Breaks. Guest James Wedgwood
