Episode Description

Dr. James P. Comer’s iconic work in child development and the human condition allow us direct access to the best thinking and doing on race and development we can find. Is it only fear preventing open talk about race in the USA? Do “racial” groups of adults really have “collective unconscious” feelings on race that surface in “their” private settings? Is racial healing really the most fundamental area for humans to resolve? Maybe there is something else we tend to fall back on that gets in the way of new beliefs. Is anything really a deeper divide than racism? What does it take to reject our false beliefs? Is it even possible for most adults, or must we look to our children and adjust our expectation of adults on race? Is it time to look at putting more energy into prevention of racism than healing existing wounds? Can we point to ONE or TWO fundamental reasons that contribute to under achievement and acting out behavior in children? Join us for Dr. Comer’s wise counsel and see.
