Episode Description

Self-care is an important life line to an individual’s well-being and happiness. Yet people are more inclined to focus on the needs of others; tending to their own needs only when minor symptoms grow into more serious problems. The dimensions of self-care cover a wide range of activities like a soak in the tub, positive self-talk, finances, annual medical appointments, open communication, a balance of work and leisure, walking in nature, personal connections, adequate sleep and time to pursue intellectual, creative, religious and spiritual interests. Everyone has gaps in their self-care equation, yet it is never too soon or too late to fill those gaps. Every person needs time for personal care, healthy eating habits, exercises, self-reflection and relaxation. Tune in this week as we explore the splendid dimensions of self-care.
