Communication and Relationship Building
April 2, 2013
Hosted by Jill Schiefelbein
Business isn't about numbers or products. Business is about people. This episode of "Communication Nation" focuses on communication and relationship building, and provides listeners with a take-away of three key communication behaviors that lead to success in establishing and maintaining relationships. Have you ever been to a networking event and had a business card shoved in your direction by someone you barely know? Did you follow-up with that person? Probably not. That's because there was no relationship established. If you've been in this situation, or if you're a perpetrator of this situation, listen to this episode to know how to better leverage these opportunities. Special guests Amber Cox, President and COO of the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, and Hairat Agbaje, Group Sales Representative for the Phoenix Mercury and the NBA's Phoenix Suns, join host Jill Schiefelbein in the VoiceAmerica Studio to discuss how relationships can make or break a business...or your career.

Effective communication is often the difference between success and failure. Do you feel confident communicating when the stakes are high? Are you ready to get up in front of any audience at a moment's notice? Do you realize that not saying anything is communicating something? "Communication Nation" will expand your understanding of different communication practices and how they affect day-to-day business operations and relationships. At the root of every management and relational issue lies a communication problem, but many don't understand how communication affects an organization's bottom line. Show topics have a direct impact on business productivity and profitability. We bring these issues to the surface, educating and giving practical advice that can be immediately applied in personal and professional contexts. That's "Communication Nation."
