Episode Description

What is the right way to plan a business strategy? Oddly, it is no different than using a GPS navigation system in your car. In this episode you will accompany our guest, a Vice President of Corporate Strategy through his recent five-year journey since joining a 34 year old public technology company in 2008 to its transformation in 2013. When interviewing with the board of directors in 2008, he offered a plan he called “Vision 2013” that would transform the company through a disciplined strategy development and implementation process, one that he was responsible for implementing himself. It is 2013, and the company has transformed as planned 5 years earlier. Our guest will share his thoughts about strategy planning, the process, the challenges, and lessons from its implementation.
