Episode Description

Again on Wednesday August 14, fund managers, analysts and journalists share their knowledge with Gavin to help you become more knowledgeable about emerging and frontier markets investing. Hesham Saad, Investment Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Silk Invest Funds looks at whether the current tumult in the Middle East has created buying opportunities. Financial advisor and researcher Peter Merrick looks at Mexico’s demographics and what they mean for investors. African Correspondent Samuel Okocha will report on the plan for a new development bank to be set up by the BRIC countries who see it as a rival for the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Psychologist and professor Ron Thiessen will explain home bias -- the natural and understandable inclination to focus investments on one’s home turf where things are comfortable and familiar. This may be costly in the long run. This edition is produced by Al Emid. For inquiries write to financialnews@alemid.com
