Episode Description

Managing change can be one of the most difficult leadership challenges to face. However, when the change effort is mandated by an external entity and the change impacts an entire system of care in a geographic area that encompasses several cities in two states, “challenging” becomes a bit of an understatement. Join our hosts John Jeanetta and Jenni Frumer, and their guests: Joanie Poore, Director of Homeless Services at Heartland Family Service and Rachel Olive, Director of Metro Home BASE, as they discuss their efforts to create a federally-mandated coordinated access system for people experiencing a housing crisis. Now completing six months of an initial pilot phase, this system, known as Metro Home BASE (Better Access to Services for Everyone) continues to evolve in partnership with numerous nonprofit, government, corporate and philanthropic partners in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area.
