Episode Description

Although everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, there's a staggering amount of evidence in the case of Michelle O'Connell's death that has not been allowed to get to court because the Florida town Sheriff has done everything he can to prevent even a grand jury. Michelle was a 24-year-old mother, who lived for the daughter she adored, had just gotten a promotion and was looking forward to a brighter future by leaving her abusive boyfriend, Jeremy, a sheriff's deputy. As she was packing her belongings to leave, she reportedly committed suicide-that is, if you believe her boyfriend's story. Today's guests include Patty O'Connell, Michelle's mother; Debra Maynard, former deputy sheriff, fired for reporting what she saw at the crime scene which points to homicide; and Clu Wright, a licensed PI, who has followed clues like a pro bono Sherlock Holmes. This scenario: woman murdered when she tries to leave her abusive man is typical. You decide: homicide or suicide?
