Anita Wilson

Anita grew up on a small family, grain-producing farm (6th generation on the land) in central, eastern Indiana, the fourth of five children and the first to be born in a hospital. She grew up in an enriching rural environment with endless opportunities to explore Nature, farmland and miles of back country roads on bicycle or horseback, with pets, connected to a community of deep roots and receiving a creative, unique education. Anita attended college in Florida and Ohio, pursuing a doctorate track in Psychology. During her college years, she had work experiences in western Africa with Operation Crossroads Africa and in Guatemala with the American Friends Service Committee. Highlights of Anita’s career include: Special Ed Teacher/Director of Special Ed program with a public school system in Ohio, Administrator with the Community Mental Health system in Cincinnati, Administrator of a 65-bed residential treatment facility for abused children in southwestern Ohio, Consultant with Arizona Department of Developmental Disabilities, Founding team of the Gerson Healing Center in Arizona. Anita has been Executive Director of the Gerson Institute since May, 2003.
