Stephanie Johns graduated from USF with a Bachelor of Science degree in MIS. She also obtained her recommended 3rd degree bo dan in 2011 in the style of Shim Shin-do. In the mid-ninties, Stephanie started training in this style of martial arts while working full time as a computer consultant. After many years of traveling and living around the world while working as a computer consultant she has settled back in the Tampa area. She rekindled her relationship with her Grandmaster and began training again in martial arts. Along the way, her personal journey takes on one of self discovery and wanting to give back to the community, which she finds in this style of martial arts. After many years of endearing the corporate world and lack of satisfaction she partnered with her Grandmaster to fulfill her personal longings of giving back to the community. In 2011, she quit her computer career and has been working non-stop with the Martial Smart academy. She works with her students to develop self-defense skills to protect themselves and others, build confidence and respect for themselves and everyone around them along with discipline and patience to help them grow and be aware of their impact to others. She also works with local schools and businesses sharing their message 'teaching with love not anger'. The fluid style of movements offered in 'Shim Shin-do', not only are reflected in the physical aspects, but also in the breathing techiniques and emotional processing that feeds through every aspect of our lives.
