Lynn Koegel and her husband Robert Koegel have both been very active in the autism community. Both are very well known for their commitment and devotion to the University of California Santa Barbara. Lynn Koegel is currently the Clinical Director of Autism Services at the Koegel Autism Center at UC Santa Barbara. Her expertise within these programs helps improve communication skills in children with autism. Development of first words, grammatical structures and pragmatics are the primary focus. Dr. Lynn Koegel has published over 100 scientific articles, books, and manuals on the treatment of autism. This also includes being co-author and co-editor of the best seller, “Overcoming Autism: Finding Answers, Strategies, and Hope That Can Transform a Child’s Life”. Her pieces have been used in school districts through out the United States along with being translated in most languages for international distribution. The Koegel Center continues to conduct research with a primary focus on developing a model that can be translated nationally.
