Zubedah Nanfuka
Zubedah Nanfuka (Executive Director, Bookec) Zubedah grew up in Kampala, Uganda where she took it upon herself to become an exemplary role model for her four younger sisters. Her curiosity with television led her to the world of broadcasting where she worked as a show host and producer at Wavah Broadcasting Service -- a local Ugandan television station. She later moved to the United States Embassy in Kampala where she learned the nuts and bolts of public diplomacy through her role as the Media Program Assistant for the Embassy. Her three-year stint with the Embassy increased her desire to learn more. So in 2008, she moved to the United States for graduate studies in Professional Media and Media Management. She later joined the Sunlight Foundation – a Washington, DC based non-profit organization as a Grassroots Organizer where she now works.
