Kristin Speaker

Kristin Speaker (BA, MS, PhD) received her PhD from the department of Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2012. Kristin began her graduate work in 2007 where she earned her Master’s degree investigating the regulation of muscle growth. In 2008, she joined the stress physiology lab where her doctoral work investigated the effects of habitual exercise and fasting on stress-evoked expression of inflammatory proteins in white adipose tissue. As a graduate student Kristin served as the lead teaching assistant for the exercise physiology program for four years and received the Psychoneuroimmunology Research Society trainee scholar award for her work in 2009 and 2011. Outside of the lab Kristin has an unrivaled passion for health and fitness, snowboarding, weight training, running. Kristin currently works as the research and development consultant for MusclePharm, Amrion Nutraceuticals and Cenegenics Elite Health.
