David Hunt’s story is both fascinating and inspirational. Hunt redefines multitasking: he’s a renowned and widely celebrated cult winemaker, accomplished musician, lyricist, author, successful entrepreneur, investor, pioneer “smart homes,” carpenter, and recording artist. Half of his total accomplishments were completed after he began losing his eyesight in the early 80’s. In 1996 he located his Paso Robles property and having learned the technical basics of vineyard management, grape growing and wine making at UC Davis and despite his blindness, he was able to be successful as a vigneron and winemaker. He believes his other senses have indeed heightened and help him compensate for his lack of vision. When David is not producing award-winning wines, he’s a musical trailblazer forging a new path that redefines traditional musical borders. He recently released a CD, “Rhapsody in Red,” with very personal songs about his loves (family and the vineyards and life).
