Richard P McDermott, Ph.D., is a serial entrepreneur. Born in England, he purchased his first business in 1981 and owned more than 30 since then, the largest with 1,200 employees and $420 million in sales. . As a customer, began using SignaKey encrypted marking technology to track individual auto parts in 2006. He aquired the technology with Bill Maybaum in 2010. Since then, he expanded into BioPharma, luxury goods, medical instruments and electronics. The first Patent was issued in 2013. In the electronics space, he developed and validated process for defeating counterfeit components in 2012, which was first rolled out at Counterfeit West, San Diego, 2013. SignaKey is Michigan based, with offices in New Hampshire and Switzerland, and it is a member of COG, ERAI, ECIA, SMTA. The Michigan facility ISO 9001 certified.
