Nancy Sands
Nancy Sands is the single mother of a 19-month-old daughter named Sophie. Sophie was born with a congenital heart defect (hypoplastic left heart syndrome) that is usually corrected in a series of three surgeries. Having undergone two of the planned procedures as well as an additional surgery, Nancy’s daughter is a thriving and active toddler, although she continues to face some developmental challenges. Nancy has a background in counseling but is currently working to attend to Sophie’s needs for therapy (OT/PT/ST), medical follow-up, and more.
