Amy Goyer is an aging and families expert, specializing in caregiving, grandparenting and multigenerational issues. An author, speaker, consultant and AARP's Family and Caregiving Expert www.aarp.org/caregiving , she is a recognized media authority, including interviews for ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, The New York Times, Washington Post & People. She’s been an advocate for older adults, children and families for more than 30 years at the local, state, national & international levels before joining AARP. A passionate champion for caregivers, she’s been one her entire adult life. It’s been her joy to be primary caregiver for her parents, Robert, 90, who has Alzheimer’s, and Patricia who passed Oct. 2013 at age 87. Her Dad and his service dog, Mr. Jackson live with her in Chandler, Arizona, though she commutes to Washington, DC regularly.
