Emma Kwasnica

Emma Kwasnica is a Montreal-based activist and owner of the popular Facebook group "Informed Choice: Birth and Beyond." In 2010, in response to the news that an online health guru was planning to market his own brand of powdered infant formula, Emma founded Human Milk 4 Human Babies (http://hm4hb.net/) as a global network to support "informed milksharing" so that babies could realize their "birthright to be nourished exclusively with human milk." Emma's efforts to normalize breastfeeding images in social media has generated a great deal of media attention and recently influenced Facebook to change its photo policy and allow breastfeeding photos. Emma lives in Montreal with her four young daughters and husband.
