Ben Brown, MD

Dr. Brown is currently the Medical Director of Ornish Lifestyle Medicine. He has worked with Dr. Ornish since 1994 in developing this program. He was previously on The Cutting Edge of Health and Wellness last Spring discussing integrative medical care for the underserved. Ben graduated from UCSF medical school and then from the family medicine residency in Santa Rosa. While in medical school he founded and directed an international non-profit to help serve the refugees along the Thai-Burma border and has done many missions to that region as well as to Bolivia, Haiti and Nicaragua. As Chief Medical Officer for Santa Rosa Community Health Centers, he and his team grew the clinics from one site to five, and in 2007 he joined the faculty of the Santa Rosa Family Practice Residency where he developed an Integrative Medicine Fellowship. He is an award-winning photographer, writer and humanitarian and the author of "50 Simple Things to Save Your Life During Residency."
