Laura Macklin-Purdy
Laura Macklin-Purdy is the Business Development Director for the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. Laura brings extensive knowledge and understanding to the chamber staff. Combining a mix of knowledge from; business ownership, multiple property management positions and extensive retail experience allows Laura’s experience to provide helpful insight to business owners. Laura is dedicated to helping businesses grow their capabilities, connections and bringing their business to the next level. Responsible for growing the Chambers membership 30% in one year, Laura increased membership from 500 to 700 members in 2014. The introduction of the Membership Success Seminar and the Summer Lunch Series to the mix of events at the Chamber has been instrumental in keeping membership at an all time high. Laura brings to the table extensive understanding of business ownership having had two businesses in St. Charles. As a sales trainer for an international direct sales company she has obtained invaluable knowledge and understanding of all aspects of sales strategies and cycles. In 2014 she was invited by Mayor Rogina of St. Charles to serve on the St. Charles Planning Commission. The Commission reviews and holds public hearings for rezoning, special use and new developments in the City of St Charles.
