Sarah Allen



Sarah Allen is a technology leader who co-created After Effects, Shockwave and Flash video, and was named one of the top 25 Women of the Web in 1998. She went on to found Blazing Cloud, a ground-breaking mobile design and development company. In 2013, the White House named her a Presidential Innovation Fellow, where she worked on open data at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. She now works with 18F, part of the United States Digital Service in San Francisco. She is also co-founder of Mightyverse, a mobile startup focused on helping people communicate across language and culture. In 2009, she started teaching free workshops in web application development to women, co-founding RailsBridge. She now leads its parent organization, Bridge Foundry, a non-profit whose mission is to transform the software industry so that the makers of technology are as diverse as the people who use it.
