Rev. Kevin O’Brien, SJ (C’88)


Rev. Kevin O’Brien, SJ (C’88), Georgetown’s vice president for mission and ministry, is responsible for promotion of Georgetown’s Catholic and Jesuit character among faculty, students, staff, alumni and University governing boards. These activities include religious services and programming for the University’s Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist communities. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Father O’Brien teaches a Theology course, The Church in the 21st Century, and serves as a Jesuit-in-Residence in Copley Hall. Father O’Brien holds a JD from the University of Florida, an MA in Philosophy from Fordham, and MDiv and STL degrees from Weston Jesuit School of Theology. His book, The Ignatian Adventure: Experiencing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in Daily Life, was published in 2011 by Loyola Press.
