Tina Cardarelli, BS IBCLC
Tina is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant whose primary interest is engaging community partnerships, leveraging local talent and efforts to promote breastfeeding. After almost two decades of working in Massachusetts and Michigan, Tina moved to Indianapolis in 2008 to become the first State Breastfeeding Coordinator. In this role, her favorite part of the job is working in communities to create successful, sustained coalitions. During her tenure the number of coalitions in Indiana has grown by 500%. Tina often speaks on the topic of Breastfeeding Support in the Child Care Setting. The “We Care for Breastfed Babies” program began as a coalition initiative in her state and has grown into a model program. Two recent breastfeeding projects she has worked on at Indiana Perinatal Network have received special recognition:Indianapolis Business Journal Health Care Hero Award finalist and Start Award recipient for top Statewide Community or Philanthropic Program.
