Marcy Kaptur
Marcia Carolyn "Marcy" Kaptur is the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 9th congressional district, currently serving her seventeenth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Kaptur is the senior-most woman in the House and the longest-serving woman from Ohio in history. Congresswoman Kaptur is the first Democratic woman to serve on the Defense subcommittee, and during her legislative career she also served on the Banking and Veterans Affairs Committees. She is dedicated to the principle that fiscal responsibility begins in "one's own backyard." Congresswoman Kaptur consistently refuses to accept congressional pay raises, returns money to the federal treasury, and donates funds to offset the federal deficit and charitable causes.
