Melissa Watson is the National Director of Free the Girls. She was introduced to Free The Girls through social media in 2010 when she coordinated her first bra drive with her Soroptimist club in Glendale, Arizona. Free The Girls job creation program for survivors of sex trafficking resonated with the Soroptimist mission to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Since then, Melissa has coordinated 4 more Soroptimist bra drives in Arizona and collected over 12,000 bras. As National Director, her duties include fund development, grant management, inventory procurement, volunteer recruitment/training, publicity, public speaking, domestic education, and website/social media administration. She previously worked as a government attorney for 15 years in Wyoming, Colorado, and Arizona. Melissa lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband, Mac, and their two pit bull rescues, Cody and Sunny.
