Dr. Riva Tukachinsky

Dr. Riva Tukachinsky is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies and the M.S. program in Health and Strategic Communication at Chapman University in Orange, CA. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication with a minor in Psychology from the University of Arizona. Her research lies in the realm of media psychology, namely how individuals choose, process and can ultimately be influenced by media. In 2014 Dr. Tukachinsky launched a media literacy program for parents and caregivers. Working together with her students, she strives to assist caregivers in making informed media choices and facilitating family discourse that promotes savvy media consumption and healthy media habits.
