John Hamill
While still in college, Hamill began a career in journalism writing for the Village Voice. Later, as staff reporter for the NY Daily News, he covered state and city politics, police headquarters and served on an award winning investigative team. Hamill’s work has also been featured in Rolling Stone magazine, New York Magazine, the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, Travel Holiday Magazine and the Boston Herald Examiner. After enjoying success as a screenwriter, Hamill has worked in increasingly responsible public affairs positions including as Communications Director for the City University of New York, Brooklyn College, the College Board; the New York City Housing Authority and the largest private sector labor union in New York City. For the last six years, Hamill has served as the External Affairs Director for FEMA Region IX in Oakland, California.
