Sherri Fillipo RN

Sherri was born and raised in North Carolina where she spent many summers on the beaches of NC. She began collecting seaglass when she moved to Connecticut as an adult, living on the Long Island Sound.
On the eve of turning fifty, Sherri was diagnosed with bilateral invasive breast cancer and in the fall of 2010, she underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and breast reconstruction. Less than two years later, she was diagnosed with metastatic (terminal) breast cancer and underwent a second series of chemotherapy.
In the fall of 2014, the cancer returned and she underwent a third series of chemo. In the spring of 2015, she made the decision to stop all treatment. In the summer of 2015, she entered Hospice.
As a nurse for more than 25 years, Sherri no longer works full-time and now devotes her time to writing, collecting seaglass and checking items off her bucket list.
