Christopher Bishop


Christopher Bishop is the poster child for how today’s learners will work in the 21st century’s workplace. He has had seven careers since graduating from Bennington College with a degree in German literature. Chris was a touring rock musician (played bass with Robert Palmer), jingle producer (sang on the first Kit Kat jingle “Gimme A Break”), and website project manager (developed Johnson & Johnson’s first corporate website). He then spent 15 years at IBM. While at Big Blue, Chris worked in various strategy and marketing roles, including providing social media support to the executive in charge of the IBM Foundation. Chris is also member of the board of TEDxTimesSquare and gave a talk at their April 2013 event on the topic of *Openness.” He writes, consults and speaks about “improvising careers” at universities and industry conferences.
