Tara Hughes, LCSW-R


Tara Hughes is the Project Director for Trafficked Youth at the International Institute of Buffalo. She provides training for all local professionals involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems while also supervising direct intensive case management for identified survivors. She has worked in the mental health field with families and children in crisis in many different capacities for the last 26 years, with a focus on trauma, interpersonal and community violence and has worked with multiple Crisis Intervention programs in schools, agencies and communities. Ms. Huges specializes in work with youth and adults dealing with Posttraumatic Stress reactions, with an emphasis on Posttraumatic growth and resilience. She serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University at Buffalo School of Social Work. She received her Masters of Social Work degree and Family Therapy Certification from Boston University.
