Jason Austin – National Spokesperson


Sargeant First Class (Retired) Jason Austin, born in Cambridge, New York, enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 under the delayed entry program in December of 1990. Eleven days after he graduated from Hartford Central School, Class of 1991, he left for Fort McClellan Alabama, where he completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training with Alpha Company 795th Military Police Company. SFC Austin currently spends his time working with a nonprofit organization, Heroes on the Water (HOW), where he travels the Gulf Coast and fishes kayak fishing tournaments to raise awareness for service members who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress and physical injuries sustained in combat. He also serves as a National Spokesman for HOW and makes several guest appearances on fishing shows to talk about this mission. He is married to Christy B. Austin, and has two children, Addison, age 8, and Brylon, age 6.
