Jeremy P. Ämick
For several years, Jeremy P. Ämick has volunteered as public affairs officer with the Silver Star Families of America—a Missouri-based organization that recognizes the service and sacrifice of veterans wounded or injured from their service in a combat zone. He has recently completed a book about James Shipley, a Tipton, Mo., veteran who was a mechanic with the famed Tuskegee Airmen during the Second World War and is currently working on a book highlighting Missouri’s role in the Spanish-American War. Ämick served in the U.S. Army and Missouri National Guard and received a medical discharge in 2004.
