Cass Brown Capel, Ph.D., Health Psychologist


Dr. Capel has been facilitating breast cancer support groups for Save Ourselves Breast Cancer Organization (www.save-ourselves.org) since 1993. She was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer when she was 32 years old in 1987.
Dr. Capel is a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Sacramento. Her areas of expertise, in addition to cancer, are ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, behavioral health and PTSD. She convenes monthly educational forums for Save Ourselves. Currently she conducts 84 breast cancer support groups annually for people who are just starting their journeys, for people with metastatic breast cancer, groups for women under 45, and a special 12 session survivorship series for those who are two or more years post-treatment. She and her husband had a baby girl nearly 13 years after breast cancer when she was over 45 years old, (no fertility help).
