Dr. Andrew Smiler
Andrew Smiler, PhD, is a licensed therapist and an expert on boys, men, and masculinity. Dr. Smiler holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Developmental Psychology. He is the author of "Challenging Casanova: Beyond the Stereotype of the Promiscuous Young Male" (2013) and "Dating and Sex: A Guide for the 21st Century Teen Boy" (2016). Dr. Smiler has authored or co-authored more than 25 academic articles and chapters, and he is co-author, with Dr. Chris Kilmartin, of the best-selling Introduction to Men's Studies textbook "The Masculine Self (5th Ed)". Dr. Smiler's clinical practice focuses on teen boys and men of all ages, serving clients of all genders and sexual orientations. He routinely addresses issues such as depression, anxiety, attention deficits, and relationship problems, as well as issues related to gender identity and sexuality.
