In Vietnam Hong Hoang is the Founder and Exec, Director of CHANGE, with innovative communications and campaigns they encourage and inspire community action in care and preservation of the environment through education and action in changing habits in Vietnam. In 2013, CHANGE partnered with WildAid and multi-year programs to reduce demands of the most endangered species for illegal wildlife consumption in Vietnam. With Hong’s leadership the campaigns have engaged strategic partners and secured substantial support to achieve outstanding results in raising the public awareness these issues. Hong is a high-profile environmental figure in Vietnam; the first Vietnamese person ever to set foot in Antarctica in 1997 and 2009 returned as leader of Team Vietnam in the 2014 International Antarctic Treaty Expedition, to further world attention to climate change. As Special Junior Envoy of UNESCO, she received Citation of Merit from the Vietnamese Prime Minister for her achievements.
