Dr. Barbara Simmons
Dr. Barbara Simmons, OB/Gyn, MBA is a New York native. She attended Cornell University and completed her medical training at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her residency at NYU Medical Center.
After completion of Residency, Dr. Simmons relocated to Atlanta, GA where she received an academic appointment at Morehouse School of Medicine. She has been a practicing, Board Certified OB/Gyn for the past 25 years. During her career, she has been specializing in high risk obstetrics, infertility and general gynecology. She has delivered well over 3000 babies to date.
Her special interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and the treatment of uterine fibroids.
She has published articles for medical journals and has appeared on the Discovery Channel's Birth Day program.
She currently serves as Assistant Professor at Morehouse School; devoting part of her clinical time to the training of medical students and OB/Gyn residents.
