Karen Hawkes
Karen has over twenty years experience in helping introduce technologies to bring people underwater. She has co-founded several companies, including DeepFlight (formerly Hawkes Ocean Technologies), which has innovated a new type of personal submarine that flies underwater. She organized the first underwater flight schools, and has also spent time searching the oceans for shipwrecks. Currently, as VP of Communications and Media Relations at DeepFlight, Karen is focused on establishing a global brand for the company’s newest initiative, DeepFlight Adventures, which is partnering with resorts to bring submarine excursions to hotel guests. Previously, Karen was an Associate Producer at American Adventure Productions in Aspen, CO, where she developed adventure programming for major broadcast partners. Prior to that, she was an Associate at Kekst and Company, a leading corporate PR firm in New York City.
