Brad Borkan

Brad Borkan works in Global Marketing supporting SAP’s strategic partners. His life-long fascination with how people and businesses can make better decisions led to a graduate degree in Decision Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania. American by birth, Brad has spent his career in London working for software companies including Siebel, Oracle and SAP. With David Hirzel, he recently co-authored the book, “When Your Life Depends on It: Extreme Decision Making Lessons from the Antarctic”. Brad’s interest in polar history started at age 8. He has attended Antarctic conferences and Ernest Shackleton’s 100th anniversary commemorative at Westminster Abbey. He and David launched their book in May 2017 at the Fram Museum in Oslo and Discovery Point in Dundee, Scotland, sites that house the two remaining expedition ships from the Heroic Age of Antarctic exploration from the early 1900’s: Amundsen’s Antarctic ship, the Fram, and Robert Scott’s first Antarctic ship, the Discovery.
