Angélla Christie is a gospel saxophonist. In 1985, after finishing college, she started the Angella Christie Sound Ministries. Because of her unique sound, many consider her an innovator in instrumental Christian music. She signed with Atlanta International Records in 1996 and released Eternity the same year. The album sold nearly 30,000 copies. Christie followed up Eternity with Hymn and I in 1998 which reached the 24th spot on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums. She did a 40-city tour in 2000 and Her 2008 album The Breath of Life reached the 9th spot on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz and 31st spot on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums. Christie has received numerous awards, has seven albums to her credit, recorded a series of independent releases including Because He Lives, Rejoice, It Is Well, and Walk With Me, and is currently working hard to bring us her most inspirational sound to date.
